← Back to OSI and TCP-IP Model

Provides end-to-end communication between applications. TCP offers reliable, ordered delivery with flow and congestion control. UDP provides fast, connectionless, unreliable delivery. QUIC (used by HTTP/3) combines UDP transport with built-in encryption and multiplexing.
